Sorry in advance but this is the sort of nerdy thing that interests me... I see that there is an airport immediately next to the Freiburg stadium, literally 400 yards away.
I wonder if we would fly in on the morning / early afternoon of the game rather than stay overnight to cause minimum disruption. Leave UK at 11am. KO 17.45. Back in UK by 11pm.
Only risk is bad weather / air traffic causing a delay?

The bookies seem to be saying both teams are as likely to win as each other while a draw is more unlikely than a win for either side. Is this some kind of experiment in quantum physics, I wonder?

I meant the team... any reason why they can't travel on the day?

Well Sullivan would like to save a hotel bill I am sure. But it seems much wiser to travel the day before. Much less stress.
Be an interesting test, this game. They seem to be going pretty well and are above Eincunt Frankfurt who to be fair aren't the same side they were, but still. They are not to be sniffed at.
Very pleased he rested so many of them against Topola and Lincoln because of this set of three games coming up.

We wont fly into Freiburg Aerodrome, we'll fly into Basel/Mulhouse which is only 30 miles away anyway. No way will we fly on the day though... it's a 5.45 kick off and hour ahead!!

I believe EUFA insists that the away team for all European games are in the country/city 24 hours before kickoff.

Probably our most difficult fixture so yes, strong team.
I expect Kehrer, Dinos and Ogbonna tp play.
Kudus will play so one of the midfield will be rested. I wouldn't be surprised if Bowen & Paqueta are on the bench with Kudus right wing and Benrahma left.
Fab Kehrer Dinos Ogbonna Emerson Alvarez Soucek Kudus JWP Benrahma Antonio

I'd go stronger than that, I wouldn't play Ogbonna.. Dinos and Zouma... Newcastle have PSG so also a tough game.

Agree. Surely nothing other than strongest team available for this. Biggest group game and best chance to really put a stranglehold on the group and rest players around that busy pre Christmas schedule if we can wrap up the top spot 1-2 games early. It's just a shame we don't play them again until last, assuming they win every other fixture.
We have a pretty brutal run of 7 games in 22 days after the international break including the meat of this group and a lot of important league fixtures.

Ludo Showing your lack of knowledge again. Teams have to present in the home teams country the night before to avoid any of the delays you mentioned.

That's probably the best we could expect Dr Matt. But we all know he'll play Bowen instead of Kudus and stick with Antonio up top.
